Awards University of Alicante (UA)

The architectural design Living in a vineyard, designed by students Jose Luis Villar and Aneta Bartula, has won the first prize of the 6th Healthy Housing Award, which each year promotes Fundación Marjal and the University of Alicante (UA).The jury highlighted the use of self-sufficiency systems in the construction project and the modernization of designs based on a typical construction of the area, surrounded by vineyards.

The ceremony day was attended by the Mayor of Alicante, Sonia Castedo, the president of the Provincial Council of Alicante, Luisa Pastor, the vicechancellor of the University of Alicante, Manuel Palomar, and the President of Fundación Marjal, Francisco Gomez.

The event, which has an European nature since last year, in this occasion the international participation relied on students of architecture and other disciplines of the University of Hogeschool van Amsterdam Dutch, the German university Hochschule für Technik Berlin Beuth and the University of Alicante .

The list of achievements has been completed with the delivery of four special mentions to projects Air Scoop by Mick Madder, Pablo Tejada and David Winjs; Follow the sun by Robin Adriaanse, Marte Lubbens and Max Meijer; Tarzan house by María José Ramos; and Casa sombra Algeña by Cansu Oflazoglu and Kristina Schwandt. 17 proposals by german, dutch and spanish students were presented to the official announcement of the Awards, in total, about 150 students from 20 different nationalities have submitted their ideas to decide the 6th Healthy Housing Award.
